CHEST OF DRAWERS

A worn chest of drawers sanded and repolished to reveal the warmth and grain of the wood.

This chest of drawers arrived with a dull, uneven finish, visible marks across the top and scratches to the drawer fronts and base. Its decorative metal handles, moulded drawer edges and grooved corner uprights gave the piece a character worth preserving.

John sanded and repolished the chest, renewing the surface and bringing greater clarity to the wood grain. The completed finish gives the timber a warmer, more consistent appearance while retaining the chest’s original detailing.

The gallery shows the finished piece back in its home, a clear studio view of the renewed finish, and its condition before the work began.
