TERMS & CONDITIONS
These terms explain purchases from our online shop and commissions for upholstery, restoration and cabinet making.
Please read them alongside our Delivery & Collection and Returns & Cancellations pages. If you have any questions, please contact John before ordering or agreeing to work.

OUR SHOP PIECES
Please read the description, dimensions and condition information before purchasing. Where a listing includes several pieces, such as a set of chairs, the description will explain what is included in the price.
Vintage and restored furniture may show signs of age and previous use. We aim to describe its condition accurately and identify significant imperfections.
Colours may appear differently on different screens. Please contact us before ordering if you would like further photographs or information. This does not affect your rights if an item differs from its description.
PRICES & PAYMENTS
Shop prices are shown in pounds sterling. The total price payable for the goods will be displayed before you complete your purchase.
Payment for shop purchases is taken through the payment options available at checkout. Please check your items, contact details and chosen collection or delivery arrangements before paying.
DELIVERY & COLLECTION
If you require delivery, please contact John before placing your order. Delivery availability and cost depend on the size and quantity of the pieces, the destination and any access requirements.
We will confirm the delivery charge and arrangements with you before you proceed. Delivery is not included in the item price unless the listing expressly states otherwise.
If you choose collection at checkout, please contact John to agree a collection date and time before travelling.
Please see our Delivery & Collection page for further information.
RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS
Our Returns & Cancellations page explains cancellation rights for eligible online purchases, the return process and how we deal with faulty, damaged or incorrectly described items.
Please contact us if there is a problem with your purchase. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
QUOTATIONS & AGREEING WORK
Please contact John to discuss your requirements. Quotations may be discussed in person, by telephone or by text message.
Before work begins, we will agree the scope of the work, the price or basis of any estimate, the materials and any payment arrangements. A quotation is an agreed price for the specified work; an estimate is an indication of the likely cost.
We will confirm the main agreed details by text or email so that both parties have a record.
DEPOSITS & BALANCE PAYMENTS
A deposit may be requested depending on the job and the materials required. For suite reupholstery, this is normally around one-third of the agreed price to help cover fabric and materials.
The exact deposit, if required, and when the balance is due will be agreed with you before work begins. Any deposit paid counts towards the total price.
FABRICS, MATERIALS, & FINISHES
Fabric, material and finish choices will be agreed before ordering or use. Please raise any particular requirements, including colour, texture, durability or intended use, when discussing the work.
If you would like to provide your own fabric or materials, please discuss their suitability with John before purchasing them.
CHANGES & ADDITIONAL WORK
If you wish to change the agreed work, please contact John as soon as possible. We will discuss any effect on the price, materials and completion date before proceeding.
Restoration and reupholstery can reveal concealed damage or additional work once an item is opened up. If this affects the agreed scope or price, we will explain the issue and obtain your agreement before carrying out additional chargeable work.
TIMESCALES
We will discuss the expected timescale when agreeing your project and identify any specifically agreed completion date.
If a delay arises, we will let you know and discuss the revised arrangements. This does not affect your rights where work is not completed within an agreed or reasonable time.
CANCELLING COMMISSIONED WORK
Please contact John promptly if you wish to cancel a commission.
Any statutory cancellation rights that apply will be explained before the agreement is made. If you ask us to start a service during an applicable cooling-off period, we will obtain the necessary express request and explain how cancellation may affect payment.
Outside any applicable statutory cancellation right, a cancellation charge will only be made where permitted by law and under fair agreed terms. Any charge will reflect the net loss reasonably incurred because of the cancellation, taking account of costs saved and reasonable steps to reduce the loss. Deposits are not automatically forfeited in full.
Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised may be excluded from the usual change-of-mind cancellation right. This does not remove your rights if goods are faulty or not as agreed.
QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS
If you have a concern about a purchase or completed work, please contact John with the details so we can discuss it and arrange an appropriate response.
Payment or collection does not remove your statutory rights.
