EXTENDING DINING TABLE

A worn extending dining table refreshed through repolishing.

This extending dining table arrived with a scratched, uneven finish that dulled the appearance of its wooden top. Pale scuffs and areas of wear were particularly visible across the rounded ends, while the extension leaves showed differences in colour and sheen.

John sanded and repolished the table, refreshing the surface and bringing greater consistency to the finish. The renewed polish reveals the grain and warm tones of the timber, complementing the carved tabletop edge, fine beading beneath the apron and substantial turned legs.

Shown both closed and extended, the table retains the distinctive detailing that gives it its character. The contrast between the before and after photographs shows how refinishing can transform the appearance of an existing piece without changing its design.
