TECNO KART SEAT
Bespoke kart seat upholstery with contrasting piping and embroidered detailing.
An original, worn kart seat provided the starting point for this bespoke upholstery project. Its shaped side panels, horizontal channels and contrasting piping established a design language carried through the new covers, with different colour combinations giving each treatment its own character.
The green-and-black version pairs deep green sides with a black channel-stitched centre and a yellow Tecno Kart embroidered panel. A black-and-yellow treatment offers another variation, while an all-black cover places the emphasis on the stitching and crisp white piping. Across the designs, the piping follows the curved outline of the seat and defines the transition between the centre and side panels.
The photographs bring together the original upholstery, work in progress and completed treatments, alongside a kart display image for context. Close-up details highlight the embroidery, seams and careful shaping involved in making upholstery for these compact bucket seats.
