OAK CABINETRY & CASES

Bespoke display cases and fitted oak cabinetry, made for a customer’s collection.

This commission began with bespoke display cases for a customer’s taxidermy pheasant and pike. John made the cases from tulipwood, finishing them in satin black to frame the collection with a simple, understated surround.

The customer then asked John to make fitted cabinets and shelving for the alcoves on either side of the fireplace. Made from oak, the cabinetry provides storage below and space to display the cases above. The natural timber, moulded edges and black ironmongery complement the room’s exposed beams and stone fireplace.

Together, the individual cases and fitted joinery bring the collection into the room as part of a coordinated installation, combining practical storage with pieces made specifically for their setting.
