RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS
Information about returns and cancellations for pieces purchased from our online shop.
If you have a question about your purchase, get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
CHANGING YOUR MIND
For standard pieces purchased online, you can cancel your order without giving a reason. Please let us know within 14 days of receiving your piece, then return it within a further 14 days of notifying us.
To cancel, email johnbarrattupholstery@gmail.com with your name, order number and the item you wish to return. A clear statement that you wish to cancel is sufficient.
RETURNING YOUR PIECE
Please contact us to coordinate the return to our workshop. Package the piece carefully so that it is protected during transport.
You can inspect your purchase as you would in a shop. We may reduce your refund if handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning has reduced its value.
For change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the piece. Different arrangements apply to faulty, damaged or incorrectly described items.
REFUNDS
We will refund you using your original payment method, including the cost of our standard outward delivery where applicable. Any extra paid for a premium delivery service is not refundable.
Your refund will be issued within 14 days of receiving the piece back or receiving evidence that you have sent it back, whichever is earlier.
FAULTY OR DAMAGED ITEMS
If your piece arrives damaged, develops a fault or does not match its description, please contact us so we can help.
Include your name, order number and a short description of the problem. Photographs, where available, can help us assess the issue.
We will arrange an appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights, which may include a repair, replacement or refund. Where a return is required for a faulty or misdescribed item, we will cover reasonable return costs.
VINTAGE & RESTORED FURNITURE
Our shop includes vintage and restored pieces. Signs of age, previous use and restoration may form part of their character. Please read the description and examine the photographs before purchasing.
Any wear or imperfections specifically described and disclosed before purchase form part of the agreed condition. This does not affect your rights if a piece is faulty or differs from its description, or your right to cancel an eligible online purchase.
COMMISIONED WORK
Upholstery, restoration and bespoke commissions are arranged separately from purchases of ready-made shop pieces. Project-specific payment and cancellation arrangements will be explained before work begins.
Please contact John directly if you wish to discuss a change, cancellation or concern about commissioned work. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
