VELVET BUTTON-BACK ARMCHAIR

Reupholstery in rose-pink velvet, with deep buttoning and matching decorative braid.

John reupholstered this distinctive armchair in rose-pink velvet, fitting the fabric around its shaped back, padded arms and curved seat. Deep buttoning creates a diamond pattern across the back, with longer pleats flowing down towards the seat.


Matching decorative braid neatly finishes the upholstery where it meets the exposed wooden frame. The soft pink fabric contrasts with the dark polished carving, scrolling arm supports and brass castors.


The progress photographs show the upholstery taking shape, from the exposed hessian foundation and open seat frame to the fitted buttoned back, before the seat covering and finishing trim were completed.
